Sikkim Scholarships is the initiative of the Sikkim Government to help economically weaker and socially backward students. There are many government scholarships available for students residing and studying in Sikkim. The Sikkim scholarships aim to provide financial help to students to pursue higher education without any financial problems.

The central and state government established a separate association named the Sikkim Welfare Department for state welfare. This organization, along with the Human Resource Development Department (HRDD), has been actively working and implementing scholarships exclusively for the people of Sikkim.

Sikkim Scholarship – Eligibility Criteria

Each Sikkim scholarship comes with certain conditions to follow for students. It is mandatory for all the applicants to abide by those conditions. Any kind of discrepancy in fulfilling the eligibility conditions can lead to the rejection of your application. Sikkim Scholarship – How to Apply

The government implied Sikkim scholarship invites both online and offline applications from eligible students. However, the scholarships that are being run by private institutions and organisations, the procedure may vary. Online Application

STEP 1- Visit the state scholarship portal of Sikkim and click on ‘Register Now’.ned below.

STEP 2- Fill in the relevant information and click on Register.

STEP 3- An email will be sent to the candidate’s email ID. The candidate will have to click on the given link to verify his/her created profile.

STEP 3- Registration on the portal. (There’s an elaborative registration procedure for all the government scholarships above. Once you register yourself, choose the scholarship that suits your preference and eligibility.)

Note– It is a one-time registration website, the credentials have to be remembered and can be used again anytime in the future for a follow-up on the scholarship applications.

Offline Application

STEP 1- If in case, the students wish to submit their application through offline mode, they need to print the application form provided on the scholarship portal, which is available to the student after they’ve completed their registration.

STEP 2- Fill up the application form carefully and do not leave any important information blank (Incomplete information on the application may lead to rejection and will be considered the student’s responsibility).

STEP 3- Attach all the required copies of documents along with your application, the required documents are mentioned below for reference.

STEP 4- Send the complete application form with the documents carefully by post to the administration office.

The primary documents required for every scholarship usually constitute a government authorized identification card, various qualification papers etc. In the case of Sikkim Scholarship, having a certificate of identification of Sikkim state is essentially required. Combined Counselling Board Sikkim Scholarship

The Combined Counselling Board provides a scholarship in higher education in the association with Government approved educational institutions every year. More than 100 leading colleges and courses are available under the CCB scholarship scheme.

For the CCB Sikkim Scholarship application, the following steps need to be replicated:

STEP 1- Visit the online CCB portal and select your state, so you’ll reach the introduction page

STEP 2- ‘CLICK’ on the ‘Apply Online’ option visible on the top of the page, which will further take you to a page called ‘Important Information’ and by clicking ‘Apply Now’ option present on the screen in a small blue coloured tab will take you to the application form.

STEP 3- Fill the application form carefully and choose the program that you prefer from the wide list of choices available on the portal. The maximum number of programs allowed to apply are two.

STEP 4- After careful evaluation of the application form and self-declaration, click on ‘Submit Form’ and the application will be submitted.
The Application receipt can be downloaded by clicking on ‘Download Application Receipt’ for future follow-up. You can also download the counselling letter and the allotment letter by simply clicking on the options mentioned on the portal.

Sikkim Scholarship – Awards

Once a candidate gets shortlisted for a scholarship there’s one thing they look forward to inevitably, the reward. The rewards provided by Sikkim scholarship vary according to qualifications and communities. While some scholarship offers financial assistance in the form of cash rewards, some prefer to offer help through fee waiver. Particularly, in the case of government scholarships, the amount of scholarship is directly transferred into the account of the beneficiaries. CCB SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME, SIKKIM	Shortlisted students will get the benefit of up to 70% scholarship (INR 1 Lakh to INR 3 Lakh, depending upon the course and its duration. Students will also receive the state welfare scholarship (Approx. INR 30,000 to INR 50,000 annually) from the state welfare department, if eligible. Hostel fee is also discounted (INR 3,000 to INR 4,000) for CCB Students.
