While most of the scholarships invite online applications through the Mahadbt scholarship portal, there are some scholarships that prefer the offline mode of applications, especially the pre-matric scholarships. Maharashtra Scholarship 2023 – Online Application
The Government of Maharashtra also operates its online scholarship application portal namely, Mahadbt scholarship portal through which the students can apply for many Maharashtra scholarships. What are the steps to be followed to apply for the scholarships through Mahadbt scholarship portal? The answer to this question is given hereunder –
Step 1: Online Registration at Mahadbt
The students are open to both UID-based registration and non-UID-based registration.
UID-based registration for Maharashtra Scholarships
- Visit the official website of mahadbt: mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in
- Click on “New Applicant Registration”
- Click on “Yes” and enter the Aadhaar number to proceed
- Authenticate the Aadhaar details either by using OTP (through a linked mobile number) or by using Biometric (if the mobile number is not linked with Aadhaar)
- Once, the Aadhaar details are authenticated, fill in all the required details on the registration form
- Create the login details (username and password)
- Verify the email ID and mobile number through OTP for successful registration
- Save all details and proceed
Non-UID based registration
- Visit the Mahadbt scholarship website.
- Click on “New Applicant Registration”.
- Click on “No” and register either by using the Aadhaar enrolment ID or by knowing the current status of the Aadhaar number
- Fill in all required details
- Verify the email ID and mobile number through OTP for successful registration.
- Create the login details (username and password).
- Upload the photograph as specified and other supporting documents (identity proof, address proof and birth proof.
- Click on “Register” to complete the registration.
Step 2: User Login
- Once successfully registered, the applicant can log in to Mahadbt scholarship portal by clicking on “Applicant login”
- Enter the registered username and password to log in
- In case, the applicants forget the password, they can click on the “Forget password” button to retrieve it
Step 3: Applying for Maharashtra scholarships through the user dashboard
- Once the applicants have successfully logged in, they will be directed to the user dashboard.
- Click on “Profile” to update the profile.
- If the profile is 100% complete, they will get the list of suggested eligible scholarship schemes.
- Select the scholarship they want to apply for.
- Click on the “Apply” button to proceed with the scholarship application.

Aaple Sarkar DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) is a portal launched by the Government of Maharashtra to transfer the benefits and subsidies of various social welfare schemes directly into the bank account of the beneficiary.
Who can apply for the Aaple Sarkar DBT Portal?
Any citizen of India can register on the Aaple Sarkar DBT Portal. The eligibility and disbursement of benefits will be according to the schemes.
How does Aadhaar-based DBT help an applicants' as a beneficiary?
Aadhaar seeding ensures that the benefits reach the correct person and cannot be claimed by anyone else. With Aadhaar linked to the bank account, cash transfers are directly deposited into the applicants' account, eliminating the need to pursue different people for funds.
