Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Nabanna scholarship, a student needs to fulfil the following eligibility requirements –
- Domicile: The students should be permanent residents of West Bengal.
- Education: The applicants must have successfully passed their most recent examination from a recognized Board, Council, or University in West Bengal. Furthermore, they must be currently enrolled in a recognized educational institution within the state of West Bengal. They must have scored –
- a total of 50% or more but less than 60% marks in aggregate in the Madhyamik (Class 10) examination for the +2 level.
- a total of 50% or more but less than 60% marks in the Higher Secondary (Class 12) examination for the undergraduate level.
- a total of 50% or more but less than 53% marks in Graduation for the postgraduate level.
- Income: The annual income of the student’s family should not be more than INR 1,20,000.
- Other: The candidates must not be in receipt of any other government (central/state) scholarship or stipend for the same course or stage of study during the last year.

- Photocopy of tuition/admission fees book

- Copies of rank card & allotment letter of the selection committee (only for JEE or equivalent examination)
- Copy of recommendation stating monthly family income of the student from MP/MLA to the Hon’ble Chief Minister
- Self-bank account details (IFSC Code, Branch Code, Branch Name, Account Number, Bank Name) with a photocopy of the bank passbook.
- Copy of monthly family income certificate from DM/SDO/BDO/Group-A Govt. Officer not below the rank of Joint B.D.O./Deputy Commissioner of Corporation/ Executive Officer in case of Municipality
- Self-declaration of the student regarding his/her present course of study mentioning year/semester and receipt of any scholarship/aid/assistance countersigned by the head of the present institution with seal.

Selection Process and Funds Disbursement
- The selection of students for this scholarship scheme will be based on two primary criteria: their percentage of marks obtained in the last examination and their family’s financial condition. Once the application form is submitted, the process of evaluation and verification may take approximately three or more months to complete.
- The scholarship requests will be thoroughly examined by the CMRF Cell of the Chief Minister’s Office. In some cases, the application may be forwarded to the respective District Magistrate or Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, for further verification and assessment.
- The selected students will receive the scholarship amount in their respective bank accounts.
Note: The sanctioning of financial help is a one-time grant and is provisional. The authority can cancel the prior sanction anytime without giving any reason thereon.
