PRERANA Scholarship – Eligibility Criteria
The post-matriculation scholarships listed on PRERANA can be applied by candidates belonging to the state of Odisha. Also, one key component in eligibility criteria is that the candidates must be pursuing studies at the post-matric level in any of the courses mentioned under Group I, II, III & IV.
- Group I: Graduate/Postgraduate level courses in engineering, medical, agriculture and veterinary. Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) course, PG diploma course in management & medicine, courses related to Accountancy M.Phil., Ph.D. and postdoctoral programme (D. Lit, D.Sc. etc), LLM
- Group II: Graduate/Postgraduate courses leading to degree, diploma certification areas like pharmacy, nursing, paramedical, LLB, mass communication, hotel management, interior decoration, etc. PG courses like MA, M.Sc., M.Com., M.Ed., M.Pharma, etc.
- Group III: +3 courses

PRERANA Scholarship – Application Process
The candidates wishing to avail the benefits of PRERANA scholarships can only apply online for the scholarships. Earlier, the applications were accepted through the PRERANA portal. However, from 2020-21, the applications can be made through the dedicated scholarship portal of the Government of Odisha named State Scholarship Portal. Given below is a detailed description of how to apply for these scholarships.
Step 1: Visit the official website of the State Scholarship Portal.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Registration‘ button to register on the portal (if you are a new user), or make login using the ‘Login’ button.
Step 3: While registering, enter the Aadhar number and proceed further. Once you register successfully, you will get your User ID and password for login on your registered mobile number and email.
Step 4: Make a login using the user ID and password. The application form will open.
Step 5: Fill in all necessary details in the application form and click on ‘Save as draft‘ button to save the draft and then click on the ‘Next’ button to proceed further. Upload all supporting documents.
Step 6: The preview of your completed application will appear. Please check it and download it. Take a printout of the application too.

- Institution-wise applications will be processed on a first-come-first-serve basis for early disbursement of scholarship.
- If the candidate is renewing his/her scholarship application for the same course, he/she need not provide income and caste certificate again.
