Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC/EBC/SEBC Students, Odisha 2023-24 is an initiative of the ST&SC and MBC Welfare Department of the Government of Odisha, for OBC/EBC/SEBC category students of the state who are studying at post-matric level of education i.e. Class 9 and 10. The selected students will receive a consolidated academic allowance of ₹4,000 per annum.

Deadline15-Feb-2024 Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be an Indian national
- be domiciled in Odisha
- belong to the OBC (Other Backward Class), EBC (Economically Backward Class), or SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Class) categories of the state
- be studying in Class 9 and 10 in a government school or a school recognised by the Government or a Central/State Board of Secondary Education
- have an annual parent(s)/guardian(s) income of not more than ₹2,50,000
Note:- Students receiving this scholarship for Class 9 and 10 cannot receive any other educational scholarships for the same class. However, if they are awarded another scholarship for those specific classes, they can choose which one they prefer and should inform the awarding body through their school principal.
Benefits The selected students will receive a consolidated academic allowance of ₹4,000 per annum.
Documents - A valid caste certificate
- Academic transcripts including marksheet, certifcates, etc.
- Domicile certificate
- Disability certificate (if applicable)
- An annual income certificate of parent(s)/guardian(s)
How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship by following the below-mentioned steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required details to register. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.)
Step 3: Click on the 'Registration' button on the top of the dashboard and tick on the terms and conditions checkbox.
Step 4: Fill in the required details to 'Register'. (Note:- If already registered, log in using valid credentials.)
Step 5: After successful registration, fill in the required details and submit.

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
- A student's scholarship may be suspended or cancelled if they breach school rules or scholarship terms. This decision rests with the appropriate school authority, but the State Government or Union Territory Administration can also directly cancel the award based on valid reasons for rule violation.
- If a scholar found to have obtained a scholarship through false statements then the scholarship will be immediately cancelled and the awarded amount may be recovered at the discretion of the State Government. Additionally, the student will be blacklisted and permanently barred from receiving any scholarship under any scheme.
- The scholar obtaining benefits under this scheme shall not be allowed to avail of benefits under any other pre-matric scholarship scheme.
- Maintaining a minimum 75% attendance rate throughout the previous year is a mandatory requirement to avail the scholarship.
- At least 5% of awards are reserved for students with disabilities and 30% are resereved for female recipients.
- The provisions of this scheme can be changed at any time at the discretion of the Government of India.
For Renewal of Scholarship:-
- The scholarship will be automatically renewed for the students who have regular attendance and confirmation from the institution of the student having been promoted to the next class and having joined back the school/institution.
- If a scholar is unable to appear in the annual examination owing to illness, the award may be renewed subject to the production of a medical certificate from a prescribed authority and acceptance of the same by the institution.
- The award once made will be payable until the student passes Class 10, subject to satisfactory academic performance and attendance of 75% in every academic year. The attendance will be verified through an Aadhaar-based attendance system.
- The scholarship, once awarded, may be renewed during the next academic year also by the concerned State Government/ Union Territory Administration unless the competent authority of the school recommends to the State Government/ Union Territory Administration, to discontinue the award concerning the relevant clause of these regulations governing the scheme.
