Post-Matric Scholarship for ST Students - Andaman and Nicobar 2023-24 is an initiative of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, for ST students studying in Class 11 and above. The scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to students for continuing post-matriculation or post-secondary level studies. The selected candidates will receive a maintenance allowance of up to 1,200 and other benefits.

Deadline31-Jan-2024 Eligibility To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must -
- be a domicile of Andaman and Nicobar
- belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category
- be studying at post-matriculation or post-secondary level (i.e. Class 11 to Ph.D. level)
- have passed matriculation or higher secondary or any higher examination of a recognised University or Board of Secondary Education
- have an annual family income of less than ₹2,50,000
Benefits The selected scholars will receive the following benefits:-
Maintenance allowance
Group Courses Hosteller (in ₹ per month) Day Scholars (in ₹ per month) Group 1 Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, M.Phil/Ph.D. degree leading to Degree, PG Diploma, in professional courses in various streams 1,200 550 Group 2 All non-professional recognized courses leading to a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, M.Phil/Ph.D. degree not covered under Group 1 in Arts, Science and Commerce like BA/B.Sc/B.Com or MA/MSc/M.Com 820 530 Group 3 Vocational stream, ITI courses, three-year diploma courses in Polytechnics, etc. 570 300 Group 4 All post-matriculation level non-degree courses for which entrance qualification is High School (Class 10), e.g. senior secondary certificate (class 11 and 12) 380 230
Additionally, a disability allowance will be provided to Divyangjan students for a year in the following manner:
- Day scholars: ₹600 per month
- Hostellers: ₹800 per month
Note:- Leprosy-cured students who also have sickle cell anaemia or thalassemia will be eligible to receive the disability allowance.
Documents - Domicile certificate
- Passport-size photograph
- Family's annual income certificate
- Caste certificate duly signed by an authorised Revenue Office
How can you apply? Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps -
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner' and click on the 'New Registration' tab.
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Continue' button.
Step 5: Enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.
Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Now click on the 'Fresh Application' tab and log in using the application ID and password.
Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit the application.Note - All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

- The scholarship will be provided for studies in India only.
- The age limit for admission as regular students in different classes should be decided by the concerned institutions.
- The students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine will be eligible if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course.
- All children of the same parents/guardians will be entitled to receive the benefits from the scheme.
- The candidates belonging to one State but studying in another State will be awarded scholarships by the State to which they belong and will submit their applications to the competent authority in that State.
