Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students, Manipur 2023-24 is an initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, to provide financial assistance to the students belonging to the OBC category of Manipur. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to OBC students studying at the post-matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education. The selected candidates will receive an annual academic allowance and tuition fees of up to ₹10,000 each.

Deadline30-Jan-2024 Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be an Indian national
- belong to the OBC category
- be studying in Class 11 to research level at a recognised institution/university
- have an annual parent(s)/guardian income of not more than ₹2,50,000 from all sources
Benefits The selected candidates will receive the following awards:-

- Students pursuing C A . /I.C.W.A. /C.S. /1.C.F.A. shall be treated as day scholars for academic allowance.
- Students studying through correspondence /online courses shall not be eligible for the academic allowance.
- Tuition fees shall be paid to online/correspondence students.
- The State Governments may, if they so decide, top up the academic allowance from their own resources.
Documents - Aadhaar card
- Domicile certificate
- Passport-size photograph
- Attested copy of diploma/degree/certificates etc. for previous qualifying exams
- Caste certificate signed by an authorized Revenue Officer (RO), not below the rank of Tehsildar
- Income certificate of the parent(s)/guardian
How can you apply? Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner' and click on the 'New Registration' tab.
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on the 'Continue' button.
Step 5: Select the respective Aadhaar option, enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.
Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Now click on the 'Fresh Application' tab and log in using the application ID and password.
Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit the application.Note: All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
- 30% of the funds allocated are earmarked for girl students and 5% for students with disabilities.
- Students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine are eligible to apply for the scholarship if they are not allowed to practice during the course tenure.
- The award once made will be payable up to the completion of the course subject to satisfactory academic performance and attendance of 75% in every academic year. The attendance will be verified through an Aadhaar-based attendance system.
- If a scholar is unable to appear in the annual examination owing to illness, the award may be renewed subject to the production of a medical certificate from a prescribed authority and acceptance of the same by the institution/college.
- If a student studying a Group 1 course fails an exam for the first time, they can still keep their scholarship. However, if they fail a second time or later, they will have to pay their own expenses until they pass and move on to the next level.
- The students who after passing or failing an undergraduate/postgraduate degree in Arts, Commerce, or Science join any other recognised technical or professional degree/diploma/certificate courses are eligible.
- Only two boys of the same parent/guardian can receive this scholarship. However, this condition does not apply to the girls of the family.
- Change in the course of study will not be permitted.
- The scholarship granted under the scheme will be renewed during the period of the first-year postgraduate course subject to good conduct and maintenance of prescribed attendance.
- The scholarship will be renewed for the next year of study on receipt of an annual progress report to be granted by the administrative head of the University/Institution/College.
- The scholarship of a student will be cancelled in case of discontinuation of studies due to personal reasons or in case of false information provided in the online application.
- The candidates belonging to one state but studying in another state will be awarded a scholarship by the state to which they belong and submit their application to the competent authorities in that state.
- Eligible students are not required to pay upfront tuition or hostel fees. They'll receive a freeship card from the government, allowing them to study without pre-paying. Once the student receives their scholarship funds, the institution will be notified and can collect any outstanding fees.
- Students must apply for their freeship card on the relevant scholarship portal well before they expect to start their studies. They need to provide details like their Aadhaar number, the course they want to take (e.g., MBBS, B.Sc., Class 11), and a pledge to pay the institution's fees within 7 working days after receiving the scholarship amount.
For Renewal:
- The scholarship is payable for 10 months in an academic year.
- The continuation of the award will be based on good conduct and regularity in attendance.
