Post-Matric Scholarship for EBC Students, Uttarakhand 2023-24 is an initiative of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, to provide financial assistance to students studying from Class 11 to Ph.D. level.  The selected students will receive a monthly maintenance allowance of up to ₹1,200 and other benefits.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must:-

    • be an Indian national
    • be domiciled in Uttarakhand
    • belong to the Economically Backward Classes (EBC) category
    • have passed matriculation from a recongised board or institution
    • be studying in Class 11 or above in a recognised university/institution
    • fulfill the below-mentioned annual parent(s)/guardian(s) income criteria:
      • Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST): ₹2,50,000
      • Other Backward Classes (OBC): ₹1,50,000 
    Benefits

    The selected scholars will receive a monthly maintenance allowance as follow:-

    Group Courses SC/ST students with annual parent(s)/guardian(s) income of ₹2,50,000  OBC students with annual parent(s)/guardian(s) income of ₹1,50,000 
    Hosteller (in ₹ per month) Day Scholars (in ₹ per month)  Hosteller (in ₹ per month) Day Scholars (in ₹ per month) 
    Group 1

    a) Degree and Post Graduate level courses including M. Phil., Ph.D. and Post Doctoral research in Medicine (Allopathic, Indian and other recognized systems of medicines), Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, Design, Fashion Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary & Allied Sciences, Management, Business Finance/Administration, Computer Science/ Applications.

    b) Commercial Pilot License (including helicopter pilot and multiengine rating) course

    c) Postgraduate Diploma courses in various branches of management & medicine.

    d) C.A./I.C.W.A./C.S./I.C.F.A. etc.

    e) M. Phil., Ph.D., and Post Doctoral Programmes (D. Litt., D.Sc., etc.):

    • In existing Group 2 courses
    • In existing Group 3 courses

    f) L.L.M.

    a) Graduate/postgraduate courses leading to degree, diploma, or certificate in areas like Pharmacy (B Pharma), Nursing (B Nursing), LLB, BFS, other para-medical branches like rehabilitation, diagnostics etc., Mass Communication, Hotel Management & Catering, Travel/Tourism/Hospitality Management, Interior Decoration, Nutrition & Dietetics, Commercial Art, Financial Services (e.g. Banking, Insurance, Taxation etc.) for which entrance qualification is minimum Sr. Secondary (10+2)

    b) Postgraduate courses that are not covered under Group 1 (e.g. M.A./M.Sc./M.Com./ M. Ed./M. Pharma etc.)

    How can you apply?

    Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-
    Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below. 
    Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note:- If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
    Step 3: Navigate to the 'Applicant Corner' and click on the 'New Registration' tab.
    Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the 'Continue' button. 
    Step 5: Enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.  
    Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the registration process. 
    Step 7: Now click on the 'Fresh Application' tab and log in using the application ID and password.
    Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents, and submit the application.

    Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

The candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.

  • The students studying in a different state will be awarded a scholarship by the particular state they belong to.
  • The award once made will be tenable until the completion of the course. But, the scholarship will be renewed every year.
  • If a student fails the exam for the first time, the award may be renewed, but if the student fails subsequently for the second, or third time, they will be exempted from the scholarship, till the student secures promotion to the next class.
  • The students who pursue their studies through correspondence or distance learning are also eligible for the scholarship. 
  • Employed students who take leave without pay for the entire duration of the course and study as full-time students are also eligible. 
  • The students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine will be eligible if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course.
