Merit Scholarship Scheme for Class 10 and 12 Students, Manipur 2023 is an opportunity that is being offered by the Department of Education, Government of Manipur to financially help Class 10 and 12 passed students of the state. The aim of this scheme is to promote education at the higher secondary level and encourage the academic and professional growth of the students. The selected candidates will receive a scholarship award of up to ₹12,000 per annum.

Deadline31-Jan-2024 Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:
- be a domicile of Manipur
- have passed Class 10 from the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) and Class 12 from the Council of Higher Secondary Examination (CHSE), Manipur
The following candidates are ineligible to apply for the scholarship scheme:
- Students who are receiving any other scholarship/stipend.
- Students who are working as full-time employees.
- Students who have not passed the examination in the year prior to the award of the scholarship.
Benefits The candidates will receive the benefits in the following manner:
Course/Class Scholarship Amount (per annum) Class 10 ₹6,000 Class 12 ₹12,000 Note:-
- The first 300 selected candidates who have passed Class 10 will receive an annual scholarship for a period of 2 years.
- The first 125 students of Science, 125 students of Social Science, and 50 students of Commerce will receive an annual scholarship for a period of 3 years.
Documents - Aadhaar card
- Domicile certificate
- Bank statement
- Marksheet of the last passed examination
- Entitlement Card and Statement of Particulars filled by the Head of the Institution.
How can you apply? Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' link below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to 'Applicant Corner' and click on 'New Registration' tab.
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on the 'Continue' button.
Step 5: Select the respective Aadhaar option, enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.
Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Now click on the 'Fresh Application' tab and log in using the application ID and password.
Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.Note - All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

Selection Criteria
The selection of the candidates will be done by the following procedure:
- The Board of Secondary Education, Manipur will compile a merit list of eligible students based on their academic performance.
- The Director of Education will select 300 students from the merit list, ensuring a balanced distribution across the three streams: Science, Social Science, and Commerce.
- Science Stream: 125 student
- Social Science Stream: 125 students
- Commerce Stream: 50 students
- An additional 50 students will be placed on a waiting list to account for potential refusals, ineligibility, or other unforeseen circumstances.
- The selection committee will distribute Entitlement Cards and Statements of Particulars to the selected candidates, formally confirming their enrollment in the respective streams.

Terms and Conditions
- The scholarship award will be provided to students if they do not fail and leave their studies.
- The students who do not receive confirmation within 15 days will not be considered for the scholarship.
- If a student fails to submit the joining report within 30 days, the scholarship will be forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate.
- The scholarship award will not be provided for more than one year if a candidate is underage to join the next higher course.
- The scholarship award will not be provided for more than one year if a candidate is unable to join due to sickness or personal issues.
- The scholarship will be cancelled if a scholar leaves the course in the middle.
- The duration of the scholarship will be a maximum of 2 and 3 years.
- The scholarship amount will be paid for 10 months in an academic year.
- The scholarship will be provided from the month of the admission is obtained.
